Welcome to my blog.

I am a first-time author, with a new book hitting stores Tuesday January 6th, 2009!

It is called Note to Self - 30 Women on Hardship, Humiliation, Heartache and Overcoming it All. It is a collection of inspirational stories, each with a life lesson worth noting.

  1. Hi Andrea. I saw your interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America yesterday about your new book. I can’t wait to read it. A particular part of your interview touched my heart – Melinda McGraw’s suffering from her daughter’s premature birth. It brought tears to my eyes. I have had 4 premature births since 2003, one as early as 21 weeks and we lost our baby girl shortly after she was born. My other children were born prematurely at 30, 32 and 34 weeks, and were hospitalized from 10 days to 2 months. I felt broken too. The heartbreak and hardship seemed insurmountable, but with the passage of time and a lot of love and support, we were able to heal and to turn our pain into positive action. My family formed a New York charity called Hailey’s Hope Foundation (www.haileyshopefoundation.org) in memory of my daughter, to help other families with babies born prematurely and hospitalized in the NICU. I feel a big part of healing comes from not only the support of others who have been where you’ve been, but also using what you’ve learned to become a stronger and better person. We are committed to helping other families so they don't have to go through this difficult time alone. Hopefully, your book will inspire people to help others. Thank you for bringing such significant topics into the spotlight.

Is there a way I can reach out to Melinda McGraw to share our stories?

    Warmest regards,
    Donna Z (NY)
